Bye Bye Bishkek!

We are headed to the mountains! After consulting with the U.S. Embassy yesterday we have decided that the safety situation has improved to a level that we are comfortable with. Today we will travel from Bishkek to the small village of Barskoon, on the southern shores of Issyk-Kul Lake. The following day we will head into the Jetim Bel Range!

  2. Hi Anne,
I saw your mom and have been following the articles in the newspaper. Your blog is really interesting--history in the making. Hope you have a good trip to the Glaciers.

  4. Hi Anne, I heard your interview on KUFM also and was glad to hear you were doing fine. I'm a friend of Sarah Halvorson and was in Barskoon this time last year with one of my former students who was a PC volunteer in Karakol. Keep up your great work and safe journeys! Jeannie Siegler
